Cold Laser Therapy

As a Santa Cruz Chiropractor, Dr. McCharen is proficient in both instrument adjusting techniques and traditional manual techniques.  If you are a patient who prefers a gentler approach, the use of instrument adjusting is ideal. One area of expertise that makes Dr. McCharen unique is his use of “cold” laser.  A Chiropractor discovered the benefits of the cold laser to reduce inflammation and speed healing. Dr. McCharen is also proficient in Gonstead technique as well as Torque Release technique. Gonstead and Torque Release are at opposite ends of the  technique spectrum used by Chiropractors and Dr. McCharen has successfully used both for many years.

Over six years ago Dr. McCharen was trained in the Brimhall method of Chiropractic care which addresses the six interferences to health.  As a Chiropractor he has incorporated the Brimhall work into his practice while continuing to attend educational seminars and workshops. He finds that the Brimhall method is the most complete system of care as it addresses the six interferences to health.  The Brimhall system includes using the Erchonia Detox Footbath, the Erchonia cold laser and pharmaceutical grade supplements from Nutri-West. Use of the cold laser by Chiropractors gives patients more options for pain relief and increased healing time.
