Brimhall Puzzle Piece

Allergies, Dis-ease Conditions, Food and Environment Exposure and Nutrition

November 2, 2009

Homecoming January 29-31, 2010, in Mesa, Arizona
will give you totally new insights to allergies of exposure and nutritional modulation of genetic expression. This is especially noted, considering we will hear from Dr. Bruce Lipton, the author of "The Biology of Belief". Dr Lipton believes the expression of our genes comes more from the triggers, mediators and our environment, inside and out, rather then the genetic code alone.

Virginia Worthington reviewed 41 studies as part of her Thesis at John Hopkins University, comparing the nutritional value of commercially grown versus organic foods. She reported that before World War II, agricultural chemicals were virtually nonexistent. However, by 1995 commercial agricultural practices in the United States consumed 45 million tons of artificial fertilizers and 770 million pounds of poisonous pesticides each year, equaling nearly 3 pounds of pesticide for every American. In 1999, approximately 95% of all produced crops used these chemicals.

"The explosion of chemical use in agriculture after World War II occurred because of the Germans and the Americans needed a place to dump all their surplus stores of poisonous chemicals left over from the war. They determined that with the right marketing spin dumping them into our agricultural system food supply would provide them with the most economic gain."

"If all these chemicals aren't harmful enough, an estimated 140,000 deaths occur each year in the United States as a direct result of adverse drug reactions. The technological culture and disease management paradigm, driven by economic interests, has created a system where we take "a pill for every ill" and "a drug for every bug" and ignores this fundamental measure of disease prevention and health preservation." Reference for paragraphs 2-4: 'Your Hidden Food Allergies Are Making You Fat' by: Rudy Rivera, M.D. & Roger Davis Deutsch.

The message referenced in the book above is that specific genetic testing can allow us to eat in accordance with our own, unique, genetically based biochemical makeup. It is quite likely most people in the same family need to follow similar restrictions and supplementation, along with similar diet and lifestyles to avoid named and blamed conditions such as chronic fatigue, migraines, arthritis, obesity, hyperactivity, arthritis, attention deficit disorder, skin problems, breathing difficulties, weakening of the immune system, infertility, and others.

Our diet, lifestyle habits and nutrient supplementation affects our genetic expression. These influences either promote genes that promote health and well-being or promote inflammatory processes and disease.

At Homecoming, we will be discussing the ALCAT blood test to find hidden food allergies. One of our speakers, Dr. James Blum PhD will be covering many aspects of the ALCAT test and the many benefits that come from restricting allergic or sensitive foods/chemicals. This also allows us to know which foods and substances to do the A/SERT technique as well.

One of the greatest villains that is identified on ALCAT testing and by Entero Labs is Gluten intolerance. Dr. Eydi Bauer will review her research and overview her book Life After Bread. These authors along with myself will reveal nutritional support as well as encouraging elimination or minimizing exposure of the offending foods and chemicals to give results on many conditions that seemed hopeless before.

Some very important nutrients that aid in digestion, assimilation and proper elimination are Total Enzymes, derived from plant sources, along with Total Probiotics that helps to re-establish normal intestinal bacteria. Another major player is Total Leaky Gut, which helps to prevent and reverse many allergies and sensitivities.

One should be suspicious of a Leaky Gut in any allergic manifestation. If the small intestine has small leaks due to infection, inflammation or other insult, it leaks undigested particles directly into the blood stream. This could be a contributing factor to any and all degenerative diseases. It can also be a contributing factor to any dis-ease in the body that my be given any number of labels

Constipation, irritable bowel, colitis and even Chrone's disease almost always have an allergy or sensitivity connection. The nutrient Total L-Glutamine is very helpful in allowing the large intestine to heal, while you are restricting defending foods and chemicals. Overall digestion is very important in this entire process and the deficiency of hydrochloric acid should be evaluated. Hypo-D is an excellent product containing hydrochloric acid and pancreatic enzymes. This is especially helpful during heavy protein meals.

This week's Puzzle Piece is to spark your interest in testing for allergies and sensitivities and allowing your family and patients to achieve a new degree of wellness through proper testing and treatment, including diet, supplementation and avoidance of specific triggers and mediators.

We look forward to seeing you soon on your path to wellness.
